greetings everyone.. just wanted to say hello to everyone, being a new member from western europe.. some may know me from another forum (eden, from e-jehovas-witnesses.com), but most don't, so this is my little intro.. male, in my early 40's.

still an active member in good standing of a jehovah's witnesses congregation in my country, and honestly not planning to change that status, despite my unorthodox beliefs.

sometime i will elaborate the reason why i don't feel i must leave.

in march 2000, residents of virginia, maryland, and washington d.c. watched continuous, often live, news reports about an ongoing manhunt for a police fugitive on the loose.

on march 8, 2000, that career criminal, named joseph palczynski, attempted to carjack a jehovah's witness family on their way to the kingdom hall in joppa, maryland.

palczynski twice shot jennifer mcdonel, 37, who was driving the family auto.

Balaam, thank you for bringing this to our attention. My goodness, how many tragedies are in that article? it is so astounding. It is so horrible. The biggest tragedy is each horrible thing being dismissed and ignored. Oh, shame on them!

The new 2013 Yearbook seems written with a slant towards new Kool-Aid drinkers. "Yes, see what happened? This family went to the K.H. and while there, a plane smashed into their apartment! They would have died! Praise Jah! They were saved because they obeyed and they were blessed because of it." We were guaranteed that loyalty to Jah will provide protection from accidents, tragedies, death, and malice. We were told we would be spared from reality. They are such masterful snake-oil salesman.

There is so much misrepresention on their part. We were told, and then we believed that:

You will not die.

Jah will save you.

Being in Jah's service gives you Angelic protection from death.

You will be honored if you sacrifice yourself to the death for Jah.

You will be spiritually blessed for your sacrifices, nothing will be forgotten.

If you are faithful to your death, you are guaranteed that you will wakeup in Paradise.

Any of this sounding so similar to the Muslim extremists? Scary isn't it? Also, notice how contradictory the Watchtower Corp.'s doctrines are.

Then, if Jah did not save you, it was because there was some hidden spiritual crime on your part. Though imperfectly born, you must now be perfect, and Watchtower Corp. will provide the magical direction to do so. Their dictions are also perfect, because it comes from God. Except when God changes his mind.

Life occures. Accidents happen. Evil happens. Happiness happens. Goodness happens. The Watchtower Corp. has no control over life. They are not responsible for the random good things that have happened to you. Jah was not responsible for the kind actions of a worldly person. Nor, will he right the wrong done in his name. It will not "come out" in Jah's due time. He will not do anything about issues "left in his hands." He is free to show goodness to us at anytime. Anytime now. Anytime…um, hello?

People die. JW's die.

In Miami, Florida, the bus driver, unfamiliar with the Airport area, chooses to ignore warning signs, and smashs his bus. Sincere JW's died, others were injured on their way to Jah's Holy Spirit blessed Circuit Assembly. Did the whole bus load forget to study their Watchtower that week?

Just outside Portland, Oregon, a newly married young JW sister was kidnapped. By her friendly, known to her, JW neighbor. Who assaults and murders her. Did neither one of them read their Daily Text at breakfast?

Both stories happened in the past 2 months.

Were these JW's who died, harboring some secret sin, so Angels did not protect them? NO.

Yes. There are psychopaths among us, of course there are. Statistically it must be so. When you've drunk the Kool-Aid, everyone seems the same. You might have question marks about something, but you stop yourself from acknowledging what you truly do see. Now, you are out of the Borg. So, what did you truly see?

We all have dealt with them in our Witness world. It is not funny at all.

You said to check out what you know of the higher up Elders among your own known JW world. The local Elders, City Overseer, Head of the Regional Building Committee, CO's, DO's, Bethel Overseers, GB members, past and present. How do they measure up? Are they cruel? Heartless? Uncaring? Egotistical?

Do they give talks on love, but you personally have not seen them be loving or are known to be even truly kind? Have any of those elders ever talked down to you? Regularly? Do they and their people break the rules that they themselves will DF you and your family for? We all know how common that is. It is more that plain favoritism, it treads on the sadistic. Then because the rules keep changing, you never know quite how you stand? So you are afraid? Fear marks so much of the enviroment of the Witnesses.

As a JW, have you ever felt manipulated and used? Bingo!
